Student Sponsorship: A Demonstration of One of the Initiative’s Cardinals Objectives

A trustee of EIFDW, Mr Abayomi Sobande saw a boy picking firewood while driving along MKO Abiola Stadium road, Abeokuta. This aroused his attention because he saw that a boy of his age should be in school. He stopped to have a chat with him and the boy told him he was picking the firewood for sale so as to raise some money for his school levy. He got the boy’s name to be Azeez Adeosun, a JSS 1 student of Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Mr. Abayomi then sent officers of EIFDW to the school to make enquiries as regards the boy’s academic performance, his parents, etc. Since then, EIFDW has taken up the responsibility of paying his school levy and a token for his meal daily.

A wonderful example EIFDW is hoping many people will emulate.
