An inspectional visit was made by the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande, accompanied by officers of both the Ogun State Donor Relations Office and the Campaign for Alma Mater Endowments, on the 8th November, 2017 to Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode and Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode. The Principal of the former, Chief Mrs. F. A. Sosanwo spoke at length on the management of the school and additional efforts being made to attract support for proper maintenance of the school from external sources. She emphasized the continuous and tremendous participation of the Old Girls and the PTA in the development of the school. The HoS in his statement informed that the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA, has inaugurated a Donor Relations Office which will facilitate the relationship between stakeholders and the government in the education sector to receive appropriate support of government agencies in education related projects. In her reaction on the functions of the Campaign for Alma Mater Endowments by the EIFDW, the vibrant principal who doubles as an Old Girl of the school confirmed that alumnae both home and abroad are demonstrating very high sense of responsibility towards the development of their alma mater than before. Some of the projects that have been undertaken by the PTA and Old Girls include: building and furnishing of a computer room with flat screen computers, creation of a sick bay, sinking of a borehole, refurbishment of halls and assembly grounds, donation of white boards, building of toilets, occasional capacity building for teachers, among others.
Similarly, the Initiative was invited by the former National President of Ijebu Muslim College Old Students’ Association, Alhaji Korede Lawal, to witness the ongoing massive project funded by the Alumni Association of the school in line with the vision of the founders of the school. Several developments are in the pipeline including a storey building of about 28 classrooms by ExxonMobil. The school which celebrated her golden jubilee in 2006 is well sustained by its alumni association to retain the prestige it has been known for over the years. They were also informed about the establishment and functions of the Donor Relations Office.
